Coco’s Cat Rescue in Playa del Carmen will be celebrating their third anniversary with a party and an auction at the Blue Parrot, an elegant beachfront hotel and beach club in the heart of Playa del Carmen, on Sunday March 18th, 2012. For those who can’t make it, there will be an online auction and for those who can, there will be a silent auction in the evening. Coco’s Cat Rescue is dedicated to reducing the town’s feral population through sterilization and return and also offers a free or low-cost service for those owners with limited resources. Although the main focus is on cats, the clinic also provides some sterilization services for dogs. Coco’s also does its best to find homes for cats who can adapt to domestic surroundings and to increase awareness about feral cats in order to reduce cruelty. Ticket prices have not yet been published but last year’s price was 250 pesos on the night and 200 pesos if bought beforehand, so this year’s prices should be the same or similar. All ticket and auction proceeds go to funding this laudable non-profit organization. The Blue Parrot has an excellent reputation as a party venue, so it should be a great night. Come down and join Coco’s third anniversary party next to the beach, get some sun, swim in the gorgeous Caribbean, enjoy Playa del Carmen, and help a good kitty cause.
