This roaming festival will hit Acapulco on Friday the 24th of February. ‘Cine Ambulante’ is a non-profit organization founded by Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, and Pablo Cruz in 2005, dedicated to showing top-quality documentaries in the largest number of places possible. This is the first time that the festival will visit the state of Guerrero, where it will be sharing its cultural picks with audiences in Acapulco, Playa Ventura, and Chilpancingo. The festival travels all over Mexico presenting more than fifty documentaries in 140 venues. Its aim is to share what it considers to be the most relevant cultural commentaries, both current and from the past, and to cultivate critical awareness and debate. Cine Ambulante presents Mexican and international documentaries and this year’s program will include three themes: 3D cinema with documentaries by Werner Herzog and Wim Wenders, ‘Dedazo’ – a section dedicated to the most acclaimed international documentaries, and ‘Sonidero’, dedicated to documentaries related to music, including Martin Scorsese’s documentary on George Harrison and a documentary on The Libertines. The event will take place at Cinépolis Galerías Diana and is a must for anyone who would like to combine culture, cinema, the art of the documentary, and a bit of sun and fun on the beautiful beaches of Mexico’s enchanting Pacific coast in the alluring port of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico.
